ABOUT FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH

First Christian Church is part of the religious movement known as the Christ Church (Disciples of Christ). Stone and Thomas and Alexander Campbell, presented a plea and a plan for Christian unity on the basis of the restoration of New Testament Christianity.  It was their hope to restore the spirit of Christ as authority in the church instead of demanding submission to councils, creeds, or ecclesiastical hierarchies.
